Just think, all that fame earned him "nearly 40% of the vote against a popular and established oponnent."
With the exception of Ike Leggett, a search of Wikipedia failed to turn up similar entries for county officials.
(A note of caution to those office holders and seekers who may now follow suit: anyone may edit a Wikipedia entry…)

On a national scale, how many more people do you think know Hans Riemer, director for a national organization (Rock the Vote) than Ike Leggett, leader of a suburban county? I don't think calling Hans Riemer's modesty into question is a valid point regarding a Wikipedia entry. I could have written that, for all you know.
